Cost Calculator

The cost calculator is designed to give you a close approximation for removal and licensed assessor costs.

A-Class vs B-Class:

  • All Vinyl (except thermoplastic tiles), Pipe Lagging, Chimney Rope/AIB and Textured or Popcorn Ceilings are A-Class (Friable)
  • Roofs, Soffits, Cladding (not textured paint! = A), Baseboards, Fences and Decking are B-Class (Non-Friable / Solid)

Assessor Costs (Approximate):

  • A-Class: Approx. $1000 for clearance report and testing. +$400 / day for air monitoring services (Days of actual asbestos removal)
  • B-Class: $350 to $400 for clearance report and visual inspection

Other things to note:

  • Costs are for the greater Auckland area. We may charge extra for gas/time over long travels, so do assessor’s.
  • Larger B-Class removals (120m2+) usually warrant a reduction in the square meter rate ($55). Even larger 200m2+ we can go lower depending on difficulty ($50). We are negotiable for large commercial removals.
  • Larger A-Classes can take 2 to 3 days for physical removal. Add +$400 assessor costs for each additional day for air monitoring. Assume 1x day per 100m2.
  • Concrete Render or asbestos behind other objects (Brick/Tile/Plaster or newer cladding/roofing) may incur up to 2x cost due to extra weight and labour
  • Assessor’s generally quote and invoice separately, although we can include this from time to time.
  • If both A-Class and B-Class removals are required on the same site, BOTH clearance cost types are required. (400 + 1000 + air monitoring) – The assessor may be willing to negotiate a lower combined total.
  • Costs do not cover restoration (Cladding, Roofing, GIB, Plaster, Paint, Insulation, Electrical etc)
  • Costs do not cover tarpaulins or waterproofing (We do not provide this service)
  • Soil Scrapes and Dirty Demo = Price can not be given until weights are known. $700/Tonne Demo, $350/Tonne Soil.

Minimum Charges:

  • Minimum costs apply: $600 for anything under 10m2. (B-Class)
  • All A-Class removals under 35m2 are at $3500. Regardless of 1m or 35m2 as the setup and removal process is exactly the same.
